This post about personalized Mother’s Day Gift Ideas is sponsored by Art.com. Thank you for supporting the brands that support my blog 🙂
If you’re stumped on what to give your mom or mother-in-law this Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 13th this year!), I’ve got the best, easiest, personalized Mother’s Day Gift ideas for you! Perfect for the mom or grandma who has EVERYTHING. Two words: personalized art.
Creating personalized art sounds kind of intimidating, but Art.com makes it super easy to order a piece of customized art with Photos[to]Artâ„¢, their service that allows you to turn your favorite memories into personalized wall decor. You just upload your photo and then choose to display them as prints, framed prints, canvas, acrylic, art on metal or wood mount – and they’re all available in tons of sizes. Although you aren’t limited to family photos, that’s what I opted to create for my mom, mother-in-law and myself. I have some other really fun personalized wall art ideas that would be so meaningful and unique for moms.
ideas for creating the best personalized mother’s day gift:
use a…
family photo
Using a family photo, vacation photo, a picture of grandma with the grandkids, etc are all the obvious choice for creating personalized art. They’re guaranteed winners – who doesn’t love a reminder of their time spent with kids, or to see sweet smiling faces on their wall every day?! I opted to use a variety of photos of the kids and family photos to create the artwork in this post, mostly because I knew my mom and mother-in-law were both due for new versions of our family photos and they have old family photos hanging all.over.their.homes. A beautiful family photo is a timeless, traditional, sentimental gift to give anyone, but especially as a Mother’s Day gift. My mom and MIL are the kinds of people who hug the frame when you gift them a picture, so I know the art prints from Art.com will be a huge hit.
custom illustration or drawing
Have your child create a special drawing or illustration – ask them to draw a picture of themselves with grandma or mom – and scan it in, upload it to art.com, and voila!Your little Picasso’s work is gallery ready. Or they have a custom framing option, where you can send them your art to frame – so easy! This is a seriously sweet gift to give any momma or grandma. Also, such a great idea to get an already-existing piece of art (I’m looking at you, school art work!) framed.
song lyrics
If mom or grandma has a special song with tons of meaning, consider using the lyrics to create a custom print of her favorite song. Canva is a great, free resource that allows you to create a blank image of whatever size you want (make it the same dimensions on which you intend to print) and copy and paste the lyrics into Canva, change the font, and make it pretty! Export it as a jpg and import into Art.com for printing.
meaningful family recipe
Bonus points if it’s handwritten and scanned in… but either way, how beautiful would a framed family recipe be as a piece of décor for the kitchen?!
important letter or signature
If there’s an heirloom letter or signature from a loved one that deserves to be preserved, scan it in and have it made into art! Or you can send it in and they will frame it for you. A letter from Grandma or even a letter from a child would be so sweet on canvas or in a frame.
map
How fun would a canvas map print of the country or world be alongside a bag of pins to mark her travels? Would be so cute for a family ‘travel map’ or a globe-trotting Grandma.
Handprints
If you want to get REALLY artsy & personalized & crafty, it would be super cute to do the kids’ handprints (and/or footprints), scan them in, and have them made into a canvas or print.
