Our next baby will be here in less than 7 weeks (WHAT?!?!?!) and it’s way past time for me to move Cooper out of the nursery and into a “big boy room”. We have a perma-nursery in our house since we never find out the sex of the baby before they’re born and it’s the closest room to ours. Coop has been living there for 2.5 years and his eviction notice has been served!
I *love* planning “big kid” rooms for my kids after they’re out of the baby stage. This way, I can really go with a transitional theme that isn’t too “baby” but is still fun and personal for them. To be honest, I’ve based both of their rooms from one key piece and built from there. For Quinn’s room, it was a vintage sketch from an antique mall in a huge gold frame. I totally need to do a room reveal post for her room, it’s on the list ;). For Cooper, it was a Varsity “C” fleece blanket I got from Nordstrom this past summer – sold out now, boo (but here’s another great, inexpensive varsity themed piece). So the whole room is sort of varsity classic without being too over-the-top. At least, that’s my goal.
Here are some inspiration pics from Pinterest:
So kind of basic, classic with a punch, a touch of bright color and fun!
