Keeping baby safe and healthy is obviously all parents’ number 1 goal. There are a couple essentials that are absolute must-haves on your baby registry:
Nose Frida A normal ol’ bulb sucker pales in comparison to the Nose Frida, which siphons the boogies out of baby’s nose. Pre-baby me thought this was sick. Post-baby me thinks this is awesome.
Crane Drop Humidifier Babies are extra sensitive to dry air and when they get congested, a humidifier helps them breathe easier. I love these drop humidifiers – they work really well and could be used anywhere in the house. We have one for each kid’s room.
Nail Clippers These are the best nail clippers – we have a pair in each kid’s room and 3 bathrooms in our house.
Baby Comb & Brush You can’t have enough of these baby combs and brushes. Basic but necessary.
Baby Medicine You need to be stocked because if you aren’t, you will inevitably need some at 3am in the middle of a blizzard. I love Baby Remedies brand – I like this fever reducer because it’s dye free and this saline solution for crusty boogie noses.
Baby Gate This baby gate (aka ‘the octogon’) can work together to make a freestanding baby area or you can break the pieces apart. Part of ours goes around our Christmas tree every year (which really adds to the festive spirit, right?!) – this is a great buy because it folds up and is pretty versatile – use it inside or outside.
Plug Covers Obviously you don’t need to babyproof your house the second you give birth, but it’s not a bad idea to register for baby proofing stuff. Outlet covers are a non negotiable and I love the built in outlet covers but I also recommend getting the plug in outlet covers so you can take them with you on vacations or to Grandma’s house or wherever.
Furniture Straps I have been majorly terrified of furniture tip overs since before I had kids, which means everything that can be attached to a wall is bolted down in our house. Get furniture straps for every big (or even medium) piece of furniture in your house.
