The Great White T-Shirt Try On – The Best White T-Shirts for Women

As a stay-at-home-mom, I kind of actually live in t-shirts. Not old dingy oversized college tees, but cute, stylish, comfy, practical t-shirts. You know, fancy tees, if there is such a thing ;).

Over the years I’ve accumulated more than a few white t-shirts but I’m always on the hunt for the best white t-shirt EVER. So I asked YOU, ordered a ton, and did a very scientific try-on ;). I wore the same jeans for each pic but changed up my shoes to show you how versatile a white tee + jeans can be if you just change up the kicks. I also shot each t-shirt from the front untucked (top left), from the side untucked (top right), from the front side half tucked (bottom left) and from the front side-knotted (one of my favorite ways to style a tee, bottom right). 

There are obviously a couple things to look for in a white tee. For me, the perfect white t-shirt is:

1. Not see through. I want to be able to wear it with a nude bra underneath without feeling like everyone can see everything.
2. Not super expensive. With three young kids, a white t-shirt is bound to get effed up. I don’t want something I can’t *live* in without getting pissed when it gets ruined.
3. Flattering. I want just the right amount of body-graze without my pooch or any rolls being highlighted by a bad drape or fabric.
4. Comfy. Anything itchy or too tight need not apply.

BP Wrap T-Shirt 

Wearing a small. 

Pros: Fun little knot and a generous cut.  

Cons: Runs big! 

Target A New Day Any Day T-Shirt 

Wearing a small. 

Pros: Only $8, silky soft, good sleeve length. 

Cons: The fabric may hug the belly. 

Best White T-Shirts for Women Target A New Day Fitted TShirt 

Wearing a medium. I have this shirt in a long sleeved stripe version and it’s a great tight tee for when you want to layer without bulk; think more of a bodysuit silhouette versus a t-shirt silhouette.  

Pros: Only $8, silky soft (modal/cotton/spandex mix), good sleeve length. 

Cons: It’s a tight fit versus something more ‘casual’. 

Target A New Day Vintage V-Neck TShirt 

Wearing a small. 

Pros: Only $8.

Cons: The fabric isn’t the softest and the shirt is a little see-through. 

American Eagle Perfect Tee 

Wearing a small. 

Pros: Silky smooth fabric and a great price.

Cons: I like slightly more arm coverage in a tee. 

BP Raw Edge Tee 

Wearing an XS, a small would be better. 

Pros: The fabric is really soft and the raw edge makes the tee really casual, which I like. 

Cons: This shirt isn’t flattering in white – too see through. I have it in other colors and like it better. Needed a bigger size so that it could drape off the shoulder.  

Lush Perfect Tee 

Wearing a small. 

Pros: Under $20, a great classic fit. I REALLY love this tee! 

Cons: It says dry clean only and shrinks up a little if you dry it BUT I’ve had it for over a year and the shrinkage has been minimal. 

Madewell Whisper Cotton V-Neck Tee 

Wearing a small. Everyone LOVES this tee. I like it but I’ve had a couple in different colors and they’ve gotten tiny holes in the belly. Weird. 

Pros: It’s a good, classic cotton tee. 

Cons: I’ve had a quality issue with other colors, which is a bummer. 

Best White T-Shirts for Women Old Navy Luxe Tee 

Wearing a small but in retrospect, should’ve sized down to an XS. 

Pros: I *love* the feel of this tee. Silky and slinky. 

Cons: Runs large. 

Target Universal Threads Monterey Tee 

Wearing a small.  

Pros: A great dupe of the more expensive Madewell version – $8 – versus $19 for the Madewell version.

Cons: A tad see through for my taste but I did keep this one. 

Z Supply The Pocket Tee 

Wearing a small.  

Pros: This tee drapes beautifully and I love the pocket. It’s also VERY stretchy and accommodating. 

Cons: The most expensive tshirt of the bunch – $35 but great quality.
