SO excited to show you one of the most-used rooms in our home… the mudroom! We recently completed a major renovation – see our kitchen here and our paint colors here – and one of the rooms we redid was the mudroom.
Before we get to the pretty pics (keep scrolling!), I have to give a shoutout to my new partner, Hoffmann Brothers. They’re a local St. Louis company and I’m excited to share all the solutions they offer for homes in and around the St. Louis area.

We recently had a tech out to our home as part of our new Home Protection Plan, which covers HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repairs, and drains and sewers – basically, anything that could go wrong in your house, Hoffmann can fix! The Home Protection Plan benefits include a 15% discount on repairs, 5% discount on installations, priority service (within 24 hours for emergencies!), other reduced fees, 2 annual tune-ups and free filters for life – get details here.
When a Hoffmann technician comes to your home, the service is amazing – they have dog treats for pups, coloring pages and crayons for kids, and

When we were designing our mudroom, we wanted something durable (#becausekids) but also beautiful because it is THE main entry from both the driveway and garage. I’d say 90% of the people who come to our house enter through this room.

Our mudroom also had to be massively functional; we have 3 kids and a dog and approximately 4.6 million shoes, hats, gloves, and coats in this house, which meant storage was paramount.

I can’t say we designed the layout of the mudroom; it was in this configuration with these built-ins when we moved in 5 years ago. But during the renovation, we did change the paint colors, the light fixture, the hardware,

The hooks are a gorgeous brass and they totally pop against the paint (Cape May Cobblestone by Ben Moore).

I’m also obsessed with our IKEA baskets – we went with these because they were inexpensive, flexible, and hide the contents ;).

I wanted the design to fit seamlessly with the house since there’s no door separating the space from our informal dining room.
