It can be really difficult to shop for people you don’t know super well, so I wanted to put together a list of gift ideas for your village – the ones that keep you sane, help you out, and make your life run a little bit smoother.
I use this guide from Real Simple for tipping etiquette for stuff I have zero clue about (a doorman isn’t really a thing in suburban St. Louis, MO) so it’s a great resource if there’s someone super tricky you want to gift this season.
This gift guide has 25 of the best gifts under $25 from Amazon, all perfect for neighbors, coworkers, mail carriers, hostesses, UPS/FedEx drivers, hair stylists, nail techs, cleaning people, pet groomers, and babysitters.
Everything on the list is under $25 and a lot of the items can be split so they’re gifts for multiple people on your list.
As a note – every item image you see below can be clicked to take you straight to the product to shop – the buttons beneath each pic are also shoppable.
Here are 25 gift ideas for your village for Christmas + tipping recommendations for all kinds of support staff 🙂
Best Gifts Under $25 Amazon
1 // Wine Cooling Stick / Pourer / Aerator – this is a great inexpensive gift for a hostess or wine-lover – gift it alongside a bottle of wine.
2 // Ice Roller – this thing is AHHMAZING and great for puffiness, migraine relief, pain, and overall soothing skin. And it’s an awesome price.
3 // Cheese Knife – pretty much the Cadillac of cheese knives – this one works on soft & hard cheese. My mom bought one for me and it’s amazing. Gift it with a good block of cheese if you’re heading to a party.
4 // Stainless Steel Water Bottles – these water bottles are vacuum sealed and come with a straw lid AND they’re personalize-able if you want to be a little extra.
5 // Set of Four On-the-Go Silicone Straws – super affordable set of 4 portable silicone straws with individal carrying cases for each of them. Separate them or leave them as a set.
6 // Reusable Silicone Coffee Cup – it’s insane to me that 300 billion single-use cups are manufactured each year and only 1% are recycled SO I try to go reusable when & where I can. These are darling, silicone, come in 8 colors in various sizes, and would be great with a coffee gift card attached.
7 // Reusable Shopping Bags – the set of 5 is SUPER affordable and makes a great practical gift. Split them up and put them in smaller gift bags, maybe add a gift card depending on who you’re gifting.
8 // Perfect Pint – this has great reviews and was designed by beer scientists to be the best beer glass for optimal flavor. Gift it with a 6 pack of craft beer.
9 // Jumbo Cookie Cutter – this cuts 24 cookies at a time, is under $15, and also looks darling just sitting on the counter as a decoration. Deliver with cookie mix if you’re feeling REALLY Pinterest-y.
10 // Cheese Knives Set – same thought as above, just more ways to cut the cheese ;). These look like something you’d find at Crate & Barrel but on a MEGA discount.
11 // Set of 14 Bath Bombs – anything with scents is pretty subjective so gift at your own risk but you can grab a set of 14 bath bombs for seriously a fraction of the cost of LUSH bath bombs – separate and gift in these bags – add a gift card/tip where needed :).
12 // Key Ring – cannot believe how inexpensive these are and they come in TONS of colors with good reviews.
13 // Monopoly Deal Card Game – this game is super fun and really portable (it’s a card game, duh) at a great price.
14 // Rose Quartz Open Circle Ring – this is a really pretty piece, the price is CRAZY low and you don’t need to know the recipient’s ring size because it’s open.
16 // Mini Measuring Spoons – I have the set of mini measuring spoons that give you official measurements for tad, dash, pinch, smidgen & drop. Pair it with gourmet salts of seasonings.
17 // Set of Four Dish Cloths – these are really pretty and neutral and made from upcycled denim & cotton – the pack of 4 means you can gift the whole set or split them up and add a bottle of wine or gift card.
18 // Set of Knives with Sheath – ok I know this gift seems weird… but it’s a great gift for coworkers or neighbors – the knives are great to keep at work for slicing fruit and each comes with a sheath so they’re secured.
19 // Hanging Colander – I recently bought this for myself and it would be a really cute gift with gourmet pasta and sauce in it and wrapped up. The colander hooks on to the side of the sink or the faucet.
21 // Silicone Wine Glasses – this set has 4 total so you could gift the whole thing or split the set and stuff one or two in these bags with a bottle of wine or a gift card.
22 // Leather Cable Wraps – These little charging cable wraps are leather and super cute @ a great price. Add one to a charging cable & drop them in these bags, add a gift card depending on the recipient!
23 // Bulk Pack of Live Succulents – if you have a group of people to gift, this pack of succulents would be a really cute little something to add to a gift card.
24 // DIY Christmas in a Mason Jar – this is my go-to every single year… I make about 30 of these in one big batch and then gift them to EVERYONE – for some people, I include a gift card.
25 // Long Charging Cables – these come in a 3 pack so tie them up individually with these and you’ve got 3 people checked off your list. Drop them in these bags + add a gift card depending on the recipient.
Wrapping Essentials for Small Gifts
White Paper Gift Bags – great price on 50 little gift bags – you can use these throughout the entire year and make them festive by changing up the tissue paper or by adding a cute bow or ribbon
Red White & Green Tissue Paper – use red or green tissue paper to top off the tiny gifts
Tipping Recommendations for Everyone
One or two weeks pay as a bonus + a small personal gift… aka any of the above ;).
$25-$70 each per person who cares for your child. You could also order pizza or have lunch catered for the staff one day, or bring in bagels & coffee in the AM.
Pooling money to buy a big gift certificate is always a win and I have a HUGE list of teacher-approved gifts here. If you’re gifting money or a gift certificate, I always attach them to these mason jars.
Mail Carriers / Delivery Drivers
Our mail delivery people and UPS/Fed Ex/Amazon drivers change regularly so I set out a snack basket full of goodies for them. If I had a steady person, I’d probably give a small gift card with one of these attached. Fun fact: the USPS prohibits gifts over $20 and FedEx allows a tip/gift up to $75 in value and UPS has no policy.
Hair Stylists / Nail Techs
Tip the cost of one entire service and I add one of these as well.
The standard is a week’s worth of pay and we add one of these as well.
Cash or gift equal to a grooming session.
Do a group drop off, like a fruit basket or box of bagels + coffee.
Cash or a gift equal to a night’s pay + a small personal gift.
