The #clearthelist story series for back-to-school earlier this year was a huge hit! So many of you supported a teacher in need by ordering an item from their classroom wishlist to celebrate back-to-school and I know SO many teachers (and their kids!) felt the love.
We all know teachers have one of the toughest (and most important!) jobs and that many spend their own money on supplies (both essential & extra!) for their kids.
Because I heard that many teachers run out of supplies mid-year, I thought it would be fun to clear some lists!
I randomly chose 30 teachers from my Instagram community and I’ll share one each day to my Instagram stories. In case you want to see them all + search the circumstance/location/goals of the randomly chosen teachers, the #clearthelist teachers for holiday 2021 are below.
It would be REALLY fun to scan the grade levels / classroom needs with your kids and shop from that teacher’s wish list – a cool but easy and quick way to have a conversation with kids about resources and the spirit of giving and generosity and help someone at the same time… 2 birds, 1 stone.
Here are the 30 teachers – let’s #CLEARTHELISTS!
1 // Ms N // Reading Intervention
I teach a reading intervention class to newly arrived English Learners with gaps in their education at a middle school in Alexandria, VA. 100% of them receive free meals and 100% of them are an absolute inspiration. The pandemic has been especially hard on many of them and their families and many of the basics that they need to be successful and that we need in the classroom are simply not there. From masks and tissues to books are erasers, we need all the help we can get. Thank you in advance for your support! // shop the list
2 // Ms S // 3rd Grade
I teach 3rd grade in a title one school. I have an amazing group of students this year who are very eager to please and are working hard to make gains. I picked out items that would bring joy to our classroom community. Comfy chairs for reading, new books, crafting supplies and new book shelves to replace the beaten up ones we currently have. I’m working lots of extra hours to give my students the attention and support they deserve after over a year of remote learning. It would be great to surprise them with some new supplies for our classroom and hopefully increase engagement. Thank you! // shop the list
3 // Ms. D // 1st Grade
Hi! I’m Katie and I teacher first grade in STL! My list is a mix of literature and play, my two passions. Right now, social-emotional learning is SO important, especially this year with bringing everyone together and play especially has been a great way for the kids to reconnect! They love to build and learn together! Anything is appreciated! Thank you so much for doing this!!! 😘 // shop the list
4 // Mrs. J // 2nd Grade
I teach 2nd grade in the mountains of North Carolina. I actually teach in the same district I attended school! One of my goals as a teacher is to provide an abundance of diverse literature to my students — so they can see themselves in stories, and also see outside of their own cultures and community. That is why my list is primarily books — and then comfy chairs for reading them 🙂 // shop the list
5 // Ms. F // 3rd Grade
Hi! I teach third grade in Iowa! This year I have 23 smart, hard working, and kind students. We would be so grateful for any help! Thanks!! 🙂 // shop the list

9 // Ms. C // 1st Grade
Hi! I teach at a high poverty school in Chesterfield, Virginia. This is my 10th year teaching first grade. I have a wonderful class of first graders and we are in need of recess toys, social emotional learning tools, and I’d love to gift my students books. Most of my families speak Spanish at home and are learning English at school. Thank you for considering me! // shop the list
10 // Ms. M // 5th Grade
I teach 5th grade math in rural North Carolina to 3 classes of 30+ students. Finding sets of 30 or more anything is hard or super expensive. We go through white boards, markers, and pencils like they grow on trees! // shop the list

12 // Ms. S // Preschool
I’m a career nanny who has started a home daycare to meet the needs of my community, which have VASTLY increased due to the pandemic, and eventually hope to open a second location that serves preschool age (3-6 years). I currently work with children 0-3, but have no children of my own, so have had to start from scratch with supplies and am now filling out our playroom with enriching toys and ESPECIALLY books. // shop the list
13 // Ms. C // 5th Grade
I’m a fifth grade teacher north of Boston. I have things on my list to help student focus, promote flexible seating (after a year of being stuck in front of computers), and celebrate diversity. Many of my students are dealing with trauma so I am trying to create a home away from home within my classroom community. // shop the list
14 // Ms. W // High School
I am a HS teacher who has been at North Side HS for 16 years, I’ve used Kiwi Crate with my Principles students and they loved it, but I can’t always purchase out of pocket. 17 // Ms. H // Kindergarten
I am a Kindergarten teacher at McKinley Elementary in Kansas City, Kansas. I have spent all 11 years of my teaching plus my student teaching, not only in this district, but at this school, and although it has it challenges I wouldn’t change where I work for anything. We are a title 1 school and many of our kiddos struggle to have basic necessities so a lot of my time and money and energy goes into providing them a safe place to come everyday at school. There is nothing better than walking in every morning knowing my babies feel safe and loved in my classroom! // shop the list

19 // Ms. P // English, Title I High School
Hi! I’m Abi, a freshman English teacher at a Title I school in Austin. This is my 16th year, and it is definitely one of the most challenging. Over 80% of my students qualify for free lunch and about 80% of my students are or were English language learners. My class specifically targets students who want to participate in our dual credit programs and earn high school and college credits at the same time, but many of these students need to build critical thinking, reading, and writing skills to be successful. Great books that students choose and can see themselves in open a tremendous amount of doors, and it is my goal to have multiple options for each of my 90 students. I truly appreciate anything and am so proud to be part of this community! Thank you! // shop the list
20 // Ms. B // First Grade
I am a first grade teacher to 17 tiny humans who haven’t had a “normal” school year so far in their academic career. Some things we target in counseling are managing anxiety, social-skills, anger management, etc. I love to add new resources to my library to use with the students. The pandemic has been very difficult for my students both academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. I’m trying to close those gaps and support the best way I can! Thank you for considering me! // shop the list

26 // Ms. S // After School Program in a Dual Language School
Hi! So I run an afterschool program for the Pasadena unified school district. My program is called Pasadena LEARNs. We are a program of 125 students at a dual language school! We cater to families who work full time and/or need homework assistance. We are grant based but this year with COVID protocols we have been flying through our budget! We could really use the help! Thank you so much for doing this! // shop the list
27 // Ms. D // Elementary Special Education
Hi! I am a special education teacher in an elementary classroom for students in kindergarten and first grade. When I started in this classroom it was a blank slate with minimal resources. After meeting my students I quickly realized that they are in need of HANDS-ON resources to help them learn, take sensory breaks and strength those little and big muscles in their body that allow them to improve their most important asset…their knowledge (aka brain)! ;). My list includes resources for the students to make their learning more meaningful and a few resources for me to make my job a little easier and my classroom A LOT more organized.
At our school they do a staff spotlight each week on social media. I thought my staff spotlight is a great way to describe myself!….
“This week’s Staff Spotlight is shining on Ms. Dooley! Ms. Dooley is joining us at Central for the first time, but has been in Bedford for 5 years! She is an Intervention Specialist for students in Kindergarten and 1st grade. Her favorite part about working at Central is “the Little People and the Big People. Central is such a welcoming place to be and I’m excited to be working at such a fun school.”
Ms. Dooley attended Xavier University for her undergraduate degree. She says her favorite part of her career is “building relationships with students, parents and co-workers that goes beyond the classroom. My favorite thing to find out about someone is their favorite cereal. So if you see me in the hallways or community I expect you to tell me your favorite cereal! Mine is Lucky Charms…they are magically delicious.”
On her way into school, Ms. Dooley’s “go-to” song is Mr. Sun by Raffi. When asked which famous person she would like to meet, she couldn’t pick just one! Her list of people include: Judy Blume, Roald Dahl, Margaret Wise Brown, Louis Sacher, Ezra Jack Keats…and she says she could go on!
When she is not teaching, Ms. Dooley enjoys spending time with her family and dear friends. They love to go on hikes, read books, play on playgrounds, fly kites and make sand castles at the beach!
Ms. Dooley wants to add: “Sawasdee Ka! That means hello in Thai. I lived in Bangkok, Thailand for two years. My dreams became a reality and yours can too…but first you have to be at SCHOOL!””
Thanks again for your consideration!!! // shop the list
28 // Ms. P // 7th & 8th Grade Math
I teach 7th and 8th grade math at an amazing academic center in Chicago Public Schools. I do my best to make math more hands on so that requires a lot of supplies. I also color coded EVERYTHING to help students work on organization. Unfortunately my school doesn’t have the budget to purchase these supplies for me so they come out of mg own pocket. On top of that I do my best during the pandemic to keep my classroom sanitized and clean which requires a lot of cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer that is also not provided. I always do my best to make this a safe space where students can enjoy math but it’s expensive to do so. // shop the list
29 // Ms. Q // Occupational Therapist
I am a pediatric Occupational Therapist working in a diverse school district in Vancouver, Washington. I serve children preschool thru 5th grade in special education. Most of my students have delays in fine motor and self-regulation skills that impact their ability to show their true academic skills. My list includes tools that will be used to support over 50 students in special education as well as provide support for general education students to prevent further decline. Thank you! // shop the list
30 // Ms. G // Special Education
I’m a special education teacher in Chicago Public Schools. I teach 6-8th grade students with autism and Down syndrome. I would appreciate any help you could provide! My students deserve the very best to enhance their learning! // shop the list
