What’s a momiform, you ask? An everyday, perfect for any occasion outfit that makes any mom look and feel her best. A momiform doesn’t have to be a bad thing – it makes me feel better about myself when I actually get dressed so I’m making a more conscience effort to take those extra 5 minutes in the morning to pull it together and look a little less “street rat”.
Any stylish mom’s wardrobe should consist of lots of basic pieces that can be mixed and matched and, most importantly, are comfortable and versatile. My wardrobe has changed since I became a mom (read: more casual, less white and more comfy) and it’s ever-evolving. I want part of this blog to be a place where I can share with you my favorite finds for my mom wardrobe and where I can help you build your own mom wardrobe, minus the frump.
Following style bloggers has always been really fun and inspirational for me but I just can’t relate to pushing a stroller in 4 inch heels and a $300 dress. So I’m curating the pieces and styles I think work for moms IN THE REAL WORLD. Preschool drop offs, park trips, grocery store runs – no Manolos or lace pencil skirts.
One of my favorite recent momiform additions to my closet are these lace up flats. I literally get compliments every time I wear them and people think they were super expensive but they were under $60 (score!) and are super comfortable, plus a little open for a “spring” feel. Flats are essential for actually being able to chase a toddler bolting for a parking lot (not that I’d know or anything!) but they don’t have to be boring. The laces make them a little more interesting – you can bunch them up under a rolled up skinny jean or wear them laced up your leg with an easy spring swing dress (this one is on my list!).
Here are 16 of my favorite lace up flats – over half are under $50 and they’re all under $100.
